Massive Vintage Brutalist Ring, Silver and Abalone Stunner
I'm not kidding. This vintage silver and abalone brutalist ring is large and in charge. As the ring looks different from every angle, three pictures isn't nearly enough of an introduction to it, so here's a link to an online album of pics --http://s178.photobucket.com/user/mptpics/library/Brutalist%20ring%20with%20abalone.  Onward.  The top is 1 1/2" at its widest x 1 1/8", the abalone is 1" x 13/16" and at least 1/8" thick, and the band is 1/2" wide on one side, tapering to 1/4" on the other, and it ranges from 1/8" to 3/16" in thickness as it goes. The ring weighs 1.33 troy oz on my digital scale; you'll know it's on your hand! There are no marks on it (that I could find, anyway); it tests as sterling. The abalone is richly colored, and the intriguing fissure on the top, left by some sea creature or the caress of some waves, reveals contrasting hues; it looks almost like a tidal pool on a beach. This is a conversation starter, and then some. Enjoy.

Shipping, handling, and insurance will be an additional $6; please note that that applies only to addresses in the United States. If you’re interested in this piece and live overseas, please contact me. I will not ship abroad without insurance, which would add quite a bit to the price and is not available for some countries. The best option would be for me to ship it to a friend of yours here in the States, who could forward it via the inexpensive (and lamentably uninsured) First Class International service. Please use a personal check or PayPal for payment. I do prefer a check, to avoid the PayPal fee, but it will have to clear before I ship. Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the view.

This is an absolutely exquisite bangle created by renowned studio jeweler, Agnes Seebass. The inside diameter is about 2-5/8." The bangle is approximately 1-1/4" wide and flairs at the middle.

It was difficult to portray the beauty of this bangle in a photograph. Their surface is subtlety faceted and the silver has a lovely, silky look. it is 950 silver and is stamped with conjoined "AS" in a square and "950."  The condition is excellent.

Agnes Seebass was one of a very few contemporary jewelers to be featured in the exhibit, "Maestros de Plata: William Spratling and Mexico's Silver Renaissance."  Her work is also pictured in the book/catalog for that exhibit.  Seebass was born in Berlin, Germany and studied architecture at Université du Mirail in Toulouse, France.  Her goldsmith training was at Staatliche Zeichenakademie  in Hanau, Germany. She was awarded a stipend to study silversmithing techniques at the Los Castillo studios in Taxco and her work shows the same dedication to technique and design that you will find in pieces created by the Los Castillo taller throughout the 20th and into the 21st century.  She also adheres to a finer silver content, such as 950, that is sometimes used by Mexican master silversmiths. She had her own studio first in Taxco and then in Cuernavaca and owned her own store in Mexico City, "Hilo & Plata."

And 2 other hallmarks , I cant decipher.
